Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces their 12th Annual “Open” (No Theme) Online Art Competition for the month of June 2022.  2D and 3D artists from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion into the Gallery’s July 2022 online group exhibition.

The gallery encourages artists (including photography & digital arts) regardless of where they reside to apply to this competition by submitting their best abstract or representational art.   There is No Theme for this art competition so any subject matter and any media are acceptable.

Artists should submit their best work in any media before the deadline of June 27, 2022.

Early Registration - Discounted Entry Fee

Lower entry fees are offered from the opening of the competition (10th of the month) until the 1st day of next month (June 1, 2022). The discounted entry fees are as follows; $12.00 for 1 to 2 entries and $22.00 for 3 to 5 entries. After that time, the entry fees revert to the gallery’s normal entry fee amount or $14.00 for 1 to 2 entries and $24.00 for 3 to 5 entries until the deadline of the art competition. 

Also, students (who are registered with Submittable and have an email extension of EDU) are able to receive additional lower entry fees for this competition.  $10.00 for 1 to 2 entries and $20.00 for 3 to 5 entries. Entry fees are not refundable and and entrance does not guarantee acceptance.

Light Space & Time encourages entries from all 2D & 3D artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field. A group exhibition of the top ten finalists will be held online at the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery during the month of July 2022. Awards will be given for top 10 places.

Winning artists (10 Overall Category Artists) of the 12th Annual “Open” (No Theme) Art Exhibition will be promoted extensively by the gallery in the following manner:

The top 10 winning artists for this exhibition will be promoted and circulated to over 550+ major news outlets, including Premium News Outlets syndication. (ABC, CBS, CW, Fox & NBC affiliated broadcasting/station websites). With inclusion on Google News & Bing News.

Winning artists will have their art exhibition results posted and promoted on ArtJobs/Artweek.com. Artweek produces 800,000+ page impressions per month, 280,000+ website visitors per month and has 30,000+ newsletter subscribers.  

Winning artists will also have their art exhibition results posted and promoted on Art.Base.co.  Art.Base produces 100,000+ page views per month, 35,000+ monthly unique visitors and has 10,000+ newsletter subscribers.

The Top 10 Overall Winning Artists will be featured individually and collectively on the gallery’s Artwork Archive Page.  Artwork Archive is a premier web-based software for visual artists. Manage your inventory, sales & contacts. Grow your art career and exhibit your art on Artwork Archive.

In addition to the above, the winning artists of this exhibition will receive extensive worldwide publicity in the form of email marketing, event announcements, and wide-spread social media marketing and promotion to make the art world aware of the artists’ achievement.

There will also be a video of the winning artists’ artworks on the Light Space & Time YouTube Channel.  In addition, there will also be links back to the artists’ website as part of this achievement package. Winning artists also receive a digital award certificate, digital award ribbon, digital event postcard, and press releases for their art portfolio.

Artists provide us with your best representative and abstract art (Any Subject Matter) before the deadline.

The gallery’s competition for August 2017 was the 7th Annual “Open” Art Competition. 2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world, were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion into the Gallery’s September 2017 online group art exhibition.

There was no theme for this art competition and the gallery accepted art which was representative or in abstract form for possible inclusion into this art exhibition.

The art competition and the submission process for the artists began in July 2017 and concluded on August 27, 2017. The gallery received 781 entries from 26 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Scotland, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom and Wales.  In addition, the gallery received entries from 38 different states.   

The exhibition has been divided into three media categories.  Painting & Other Media, Photography & Digital Media and 3 Dimensional Art.  In addition, there is an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries comprised from the 3 media categories.

The gallery also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art. Many of the artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was also exceptional.

To view the artwork in each media category, click on a thumbnail image and that will take you to the Slide Show, which will then contain larger images. In order to leave the Slide Show at any time, just click on any of the large images in order to escape and that will take you back to the thumbnails images.

All winning entries will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the month of September 2017. Thereafter, the artworks and links to the artist’s websites will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives.

Special Merit Award Category – These are the artists and their artwork which we felt could easily have been placed higher but due to the size constraints in each media category, this art was placed in this special category.  Any of the Special Merit art, in many cases, is interchangeable with the best art that we selected for the top tiers. Painting & Other Category – This media category is considered to be any art where a pigment was applied to a two-dimensional surface, such as canvas, paper, or panel. This category comprises the following media; acrylics, oil, pastels, watercolor, gouache, tempera, ink, line type drawings, encaustic, fresco, etc. applied on canvas, canvas board, paper or any other flat surface.

Photography & Digital Category – This media category contains any images captured by either an analog or digital camera and would be viewed as a print. Black and white photographs, color photographs, digital or analog photographs, photograms, other experimental photography, alternative photographic processes, manipulated photography etc. would be included in this category.

3 Dimensional Art Category – This category contains any art which has or seeming to have length, width, and depth.  Relief, pottery, sculpture, installation, kinetic, and conceptual 3-D artworks created in metal, paper, wood, stone, fiber, plastics, glass, ceramics, trash or any other material which can be used to create 3-dimensional art. For September, the gallery conducted the 6th Annual “Open” (No Theme) Online Art Competition.  2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion into the Gallery’s October 2016 online group art exhibition. 

There was no theme for this art competition and the gallery accepted art which was representative or in abstract form for possible inclusion in this art exhibition

The submission process and competition for the artists began in August 2016 and concluded on September 26, 2016. The gallery received 654 entries from 20 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Wales. In addition, the gallery received entries from 40 different states.  

Due to the volume of entries, the gallery felt that it was necessary to create three (3) media categories, in order to make the judging and the results fair for this competition. The media categories are Painting & Other Media, Photography & Digital and 3 Dimensional Art. In addition, for this particular competition, we have an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries from the 3 media categories.

We also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art this month. The artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was also exceptional.
