Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is very pleased to announce that Nadine Surjik has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Nadine Surjik is a Canadian based artist.  Nadine creates beautiful and colorful botanical paintings.  Nadine was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists of the gallery’s recent Solo Art Exhibition Series #10. The placement in this competition qualified her paintings to be showcased in this feature.

Nadine’s Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to over 350+ major news outlets, with inclusion on Google News & Bing News. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her art in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.

Below are Nadine’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 images that were submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography:

Nadine Surjik was always interested in creativity with a focus on nature. This became more evident during university under the training of artist and professor, Robert Christie for three years.

Nadine focuses on nature, mostly botanicals defining her voice within her and her preferred medium is oils and pastels on canvas. She prefers to work on larger pieces in order to magnify and intensify the viewer’s experience.

Nadine has had a solo show at the Godfrey Dean Cultural Centre in Yorkton as well as showing her work at Langenburg’s Conversations Cafe. Her piece, Ruffled Peony was used as a backdrop in the world premiere of the theatre production of Landscapes of the Dead in Vancouver B.C.

Recently, she received a Special Merit Award at the Light Space & Time’s 8th Annual Botanicals art competition for “Brad’s Daisys”.

Artist Statement:

Nadine’s work represents a celebration of beauty in nature within which color, light, and the painting process are explored. By framing the fullness of nature, she attempts to reinvent the fecundity of the natural world.

In any celebration of pure beauty, there is an inherent stylization that results. Her championing of color and texture versus realism results in an exploration of the chaotic crush of a composition.

Currently, I focus on creating new experiences for myself during the process and also for the viewer in the finished piece.  Nadine’s website:  http://nadinesurjik.com
