Lou Ann lives in Oregon, where she is wildlife photographer. She will be promoted by the gallery with an extensive public relations campaign, as well through the gallery’s broad social media network. In addition, she will be featured on the gallery’s YouTube channel, with an event catalogue and with an event postcard.
The “Solo Art Series” is a series of monthly solo art exhibitions for established artists who have a body of work to present to the public. Artist participants were asked to submit the following 3 components for the “Solo Art Series” competition; 1. Their art. 2. Their artist biography. 3. Their artist statement. These elements were evaluated and judged, which resulted in the selection of the artists who will be featured in individual month long solo art exhibitions. This is the fourth “Solo Art Series” Art Competition the gallery has conducted.
Below is Lou Ann’s Artist Biography, her Artist Statement, along with 20 of her thoughtful wildlife photographs. We hope that you will take the time to read Lou Ann’s information and to take a look at her wildlife photography.
A lifelong resident of the Pacific Northwest, Lou Ann Goodrich currently resides in Oregon where she maintains forested acreage preserved for wildlife.
She is a proponent for a balanced environment and habitat conducive to maintaining diversity and sustainability for wildlife and the natural world. Animals have always been a large part of her life and after retiring from a career in medicine she pursued photography to record and express the beauty of nature.
Now a passionate nature and wildlife photographer, she particularly strives to portray species specific behavior in her images. Recently, she has diversified and added digital photo artistry to her skills which allows an additional creativity and artistic presentation of her images. Although new to the art world she is gaining recognition through published images and awards in photography and digital art.
It is from my passion for photography that I now draw inspiration for creating art. North American wildlife, critically endangered species, and the American West feature prominently in my work. As an advocate for wildlife and the environment I am an active proponent of healthy ecosystems and habitat conducive to maintaining diversity and sustainability for wildlife and the natural world. It is my hope that my art will add additional focus and help prevent the persistent and accelerating loss of all that is wild.
