Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is very pleased to announce that David Tinsley has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and he will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 2 weeks in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

David Tinsley is a professional driftwood sculpture artist based in Washington.  David was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists of the gallery’s recent Solo Art Exhibition Series #6. The placement in this competition qualified his art to be showcased in this feature.  Below are his Artist Biography and Artist Statement that was submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography:

David lived most of his life in Florida with over 30 years of it chasing the waves as a surfer and constantly creating with wood in one form or another.

He moved to Washington in 2013. With his love for the ocean, the magnificent trees and the gift of driftwood from the Pacific Northwest coastline he could not help but to create fun and expressive pieces of art. David prefers to leave his materials unaltered and let the pieces dictate their placement.

“Mother Nature has created this gift for us I simply assemble her puzzle pieces creating shapes and form.” He is currently a member of The Blue Whole gallery in Sequim WA. He has also shown works in Seattle, Gig Harbor, Port Townsend, Port Angeles, Light Space and Time online Art Gallery. David recently held his first solo art exhibition in Seattle in May 2017.

Artist Statement:

Working as an Artist has helped David find a place in the world, a way to connect, to realize that he has something to offer, to touch others through the spirit of the work.

David’s inspirations come from the life source itself. He feels that the objects that make up our environment have a profound effect on our soul.

These objects deserve recognition and honor. Their roles should be evocative and provocative. They should allow us to relax with them and challenge us to make lofty Ideas.

David approaches his designs with enthusiasm and wonder always taking it a little further and asking “What If”
