“CityScapes” Art Exhibition – February 2018 post image

The gallery’s competition for January 2018 was the 8th Annual “CityScapes” Art Competition. 2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world, were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s February 2018 online group art exhibition.

Artists were asked for their interpretation of the theme “CityScapes” by submitting their best representational and abstract art which depicts the theme “CityScapes”. The CityScapes art theme includes any subjects such as cities, towns, urban scenes and any related metropolitan subjects.  The submission process and competition for the artists began in December 2017 and ended on January 27, 2018.

The gallery received 596 entries from 22 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Deutschland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Turkey and the United Kingdom.  In addition, the gallery received entries from 32 different states.   

The exhibition has been divided into two media categories.  Painting & Other Media and Photography & Digital.  In addition, there is an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries comprised from the two media categories.

The gallery also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art. Many of the artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was also exceptional.

Painting & Other Category – This media category is considered to be any art where a pigment was applied to a two-dimensional surface, such as canvas, paper, or panel. This category comprises the following media; acrylics, oil, pastels, watercolor, gouache, tempera, ink, line type drawings, encaustic, fresco, etc. applied on canvas, canvas board, paper or any other flat surface.

Photography & Digital Category – This media category contains any images captured by either an analog or digital camera and would be viewed as a print. The gallery’s competition for December 2017 was the “All Women” Online Art Competition. 2D and 3D women artists only, from around the world, were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s January 2018 online group art exhibition.

This art competition had an open theme and was for women artists only. The submission process and competition for the artists began in November 2017 and concluded on December 27, 2017.

The gallery received 1,005 entries from 29 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Panama, Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Vanuatu, Vietnam and Wales.  In addition, the gallery received entries from 38 different states. 

The exhibition has been divided into three media categories.  Painting & Other Media, Photography & Digital and 3D Art.  In addition, there is an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries comprised from the media categories.

The gallery also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art. Many of the artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was also exceptional.

The gallery’s competition for November 2017 was the “Patterns, Textures and Forms” Online Art Competition. 2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world, were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s December 2017 online group art exhibition.

Artists were asked for their interpretation of the theme “Patterns”. The gallery accepted art which was representative or in abstract form for possible inclusion into this art exhibition.

The art competition and the submission process for the artists began in October 10th 2017 and concluded on November 26, 2017. The gallery received 581 entries from 19 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Wales.  In addition, the gallery received entries from 32 different states.

The gallery’s competition for October 2017 was the 7th Annual “Nature” Art Competition. 2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world, were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s November 2017 online group art exhibition.

Artists were asked for their interpretation of the theme “Nature” by submitting their best representational or abstract art.  The “Nature” theme will be the artist’s interpretation and depiction of nature art. Nature subjects will include geographical subjects, landscapes, natural objects, wildlife and natural environments. 

The art competition and the submission process for the artists began in September 2017 and concluded on October 27, 2017. The gallery received 615   entries from 21 different countries from around the world, including Armenia, Australia, Canada, Croatia, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Romania, Scotland, Singapore, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and Wales.  In addition, the gallery received entries from 35 different states.

The gallery’s competition for June 2017 was the 6th Annual “Seasons” Art Competition. 2D and 3D artists (including photography) from around the world, were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s July 2017 online group art exhibition.

Artists were asked for their interpretation of the theme “Seasons” by submitting their best representational or abstract art which depicting the theme “Seasons”. The Seasons theme includes the four seasons of the year and any related seasonal activities or subjects.  

The art competition and the submission process for the artists began in May 2017 and concluded on June 26, 2017. The gallery received 377  entries from 20 different countries from around the world, including Australia, Austria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia,  South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.  In addition, the gallery received entries from 29 different states.   

The exhibition has been divided into two media categories.  Painting & Other Media and Photography & Digital Media.  In addition, there is an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries comprised from the 2 media categories.

The gallery also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art. Many of the artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was also exceptional.

The art competition and the submission process for the artists began in April 2017 and concluded on May 27, 2017. 3 Dimensional Art Category – This category contains any art which has or seeming to have length, width, and depth.  Relief, pottery, sculpture, installation, kinetic, and conceptual 3-D artworks created in metal, paper, wood, stone, fiber, plastics, glass, ceramics, trash or any other material which can be used to create 3 dimensional art. “All Photography” Art Exhibition – December 2016 post image

The gallery’s competition for November 2016 was the 5th Annual “All Photography” Art Competition. The submission process and competition for the photographers began in October 2016 and concluded on November 26, 2016.

The gallery received 255 entries from 12 different countries from around the world, including the Australia, Bermuda, Bosna/Hercegovina, Canada, Croatia, France, Israel, Scotland, Sweden, Türkiye, United Kingdom and Wales. In addition, the gallery also received entries from 24 different states.

Overall, the gallery received a broad selection photography, including, film, digital, digital manipulation and alternative processes and the gallery tried to include these styles and processes in this art exhibition.

The gallery has included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding photography into this art exhibition. The photographers in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their photography was exceptional as well.

It is our hope that the viewer will take the time to also enjoy their beautiful and creative photography too. To view their work click on the thumbnail image and that will take you a Slide Show. In order to leave the Slide Show at any time, just click on the large image in order to escape.

All winning entries will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the month of December 2016. Thereafter, the artworks and links to the artist’s websites will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives.

Special Merit Category – These are photographers whose photography we felt could easily be judged higher (and were) but due to the size constraints for this exhibition, this photography was not included. Otherwise, any of the Special Merit photography, in many cases, is interchangeable with the best photography that we selected for the top tier. Special Recognition Category – Many of the photographers in the Special Recognition category could have easily been included in the upper rank of the winning entries, as their photography was also exceptional.
